Failure patterns between her2-negative and her2-positive luminal B breast cancer

Noorie Choi; Sea-Won Lee; Yujin Lim; Eunyoung Kang; Eun-Kyu Kim; Yu Jung Kim; Jee Hyun Kim; So Yeon Park; In Ah Kim*

Majority of LBH+ patients undergo some form of systemic treatment and show relatively better clinical outcomes than LBH- patients. However, LBH- patients have poorer prognosis and may need more aggressive systemic approaches for improved treatment outcomes. Better differentiation of molecular subtypes is still a challenge and tumor protein p53 may be a potential marker for more refined risk stratification.

Comparison between HER2 extracellular domain in serum and HER2 overexpression in breast cancer tissue in the same patients

Jamal Zidan; Raneen Mzalbat; Adi Sharabi; Moshe Stein; Osamah Hussein

Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) is an important prognostic and predictive factor in women with breast cancer (BC). The importance HER-2 extracellular domain (ECD) in serum is not yet determined. The aim of this study was to explore the correlation between serum ECD and tissue HER-2 expression and to compare ECD levels with clinical and pathological features in primary BC patients.

Predictors of complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in Breast Cancer: A National Cancer Database (NCDB) analysis

Marissa K Srour; Jeffrey Johnson; Alice Chung; Armando E Giuliano; Farin Amersi*

Purpose: Pathologic Complete Response (PCR) following Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for breast cancer has been associated with improved survival. The objective was to characterize those patients receiving NAC and analyze predictors of PCR.

Protocol of the TOBO-Study: A prospective cohort study of patient satisfaction and quality of life after breast conserving therapy with and without oncoplastic reconstruction

Nadine S Hillberg*; Yvonne LJ Vissers; Karolien MPJ Verhoeven; Tom JM van Mulken; Marleen AJ Meesters-Caberg; Liesbeth J Boersma; René RJW van der Hulst

Introduction: In the past, a mastectomy was the first approach to the treatment of breast cancer. Today, breast-conserving surgery combined with adjuvant radiotherapy has become the standard treatment for a large number of women with breast cancer. Even for resection of larger tumours, which previously could only be treated with a mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery in combination with oncoplastic reconstruction is possible with a good cosmetic result...

Targeting Deep Breast Lesion in a Cost Effective Way

Teena Sleeba*; Michelle Aline Antony

Introduction: A 56 year post-menopausal lady presented with a left breast mass lesion of 3 month duration. Mammograms in CC and MLO views revealed multifocal left breast malignancy involving the upper outer quadrant of the left breast with metastatic left axillary nodes.
