A vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) occurs when a connection develops between the bladder and the vagina, and the gold standard treatment is surgical closure. Published data have demonstrated that most of the cases of VVF in developed countries had a surgical etiology, most commonly a hysterectomy. The most common symptom associated with VVF is continuous leakage of urine through the vagina.
Vulvovaginal Candidiasis (VVC) is less common in postmenopausal women because of fungal estrogen dependence. Post-menopausal women with underlying risk factors for VVC, such as hormone replacement therapy, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, and immunosuppression caused by medication or disease, are at risk for chronic or recurrent VVC. The Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor class has been associated with an increased risk of Genital Mycotic Infections (GMI) and urinary tract infections, likely the consequence of drug-induced glycosuria.
According to the National Vital Statistics Report published by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in 2023, the number of births recorded in the United States in 2021 was 3,664,292 which was up by 1% from 2020. The general fertility rate also rose amongst all ethnic groups, which was the first time it happened since 2014.
Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC), a major therapeutic problem worldwide, defies ready cure and serves as a major ongoing challenge with high rates of symptomatic recurrence. Past treatment has been limited to maintenance prophylactic fluconazole regimens which frequently fail to meet the needs of patients and is further challenged by increased rates of fluconazole resistance in C. albicans and non-albicans Candida species isolates.
In women of reproductive age, there is often an injury to the endometrium such as endometrial damage or Asherman’s Syndrome (AS), Intrauterine Adhesions (IAU), or endometrial scar formation such as cesarean section, myomectomy, curettage which can cause infertility. To overcome these problems, a uterine tissue engineering strategy emerged using scaffold biomaterials. In this journal, natural and synthetic scaffold materials and cell sheets are used, mostly natural materials, the target species are humans, rattus norvegicus, and rabbit, while the largest target tissue is the endometrium.
Background: Pregnancy in the broad ligament is a rare type of abdominal ectopic pregnancy, in which, the gestational tissue implant between the layers of the broad ligament. The reported incidence of all abdominal pregnancies is 1.4% of ectopic pregnancies. Due to its rarity and great variations of clinical presentation, diagnosis is seldom established before surgery. There is no adequate data beyond few case reports.
Introduction: Placenta increta is a rare maldevelopment of the placenta that leads to fatal pregnancy-related complications. They are classified into three forms depending on the degree of the spectrum of abnormal placentation. The estimated incidence of placenta increta is 1 in 2500-7000, characterised by the absence of the entire or partial deciduas basalis and incomplete development of the nitabuch layer.

Laser for treatment of female SUI symptoms is still part of a controversial discussion. Due to lack of longtime experiences this is reasonable. On the other side we can see a big potential in this therapy: With proper settings laser in SUI treatment is genuinely non-invasive and does not inhibit other therapies. With proper assessment of the patients (SUI I) laser can achieve very convincing and long lasting results.
We report the case of a 33 year old patient which SUI grade III after spontaneous delivery. During examination we found out that urethra length was only 15 mm. As normal we see a urethra length of 30-50 mm. Due to this extreme short urethra and increased possibility of unwanted outcome we rejected operation with mesh or string. Therefore patient had local estrogen and Yentreve medication.

Herein, we discussed a case of a 53-year-old woman who visited her Obstetrics and Gynecologist for a pelvic pain and post-menopausal bleeding. A total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy was performed.
Hemorrhage in any surgical case can play havoc and can be life threatening. Especially in women, surgical procedures in pelvic area involve close proximity to various major vessels. Pelvic hemorrhage is potentially lethal complication in either obstetrics or gynecological surgeries. Obstetric hemorrhage remains the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide with an estimated global maternal mortality ratio of 211 deaths per 100,000 live births.
The placenta is a temporary organ, which has a dual transport function in that it facilitates the passage of some bio-substances to the fetus while acting as a barrier to other materials including metals which may interfere with placental function at many levels. Therefore, any deviation from normal placental development may constitute a potential threat to fetus growth.
